FRANKFURT – December sales of printed circuit board manufacturers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) were the second highest in the past seven years, up 6% year-over-year, says ZVEI. Sales declined sequentially, and full year 2016 sales were flat.

December orders were the lowest since 2010, says the firm, down 30% year-over-year. For the year, orders were down 2.5% compared to 2015.

The book-to-bill ratio was 0.94, a sign that future growth will be lower than current demand.

The number of employees in the region at the end of the month was down 0.3% compared to December 2015.
