NÜRNBERG, GERMANY − Sun Chemical Circuits Matthias Klaus has assumed responsibility for technical sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He was previously with FUBA Printed Circuits in Gittelde, Germany.

Tony Searle, global business manager for Sun Chemical said, "Matthias is now able to put his practical experience to good use in consultations with our customers. CALUMET, MI - Calumet Electronics has announced that it has installed FASTechnologies' Drill Automation Software for its PCB manufacturing.

Calumet chose SmartParts software to improve productivity, quality, and reliability for its PCB production. The company claims that SmartParts' single download feature allows each machine to get cassette information and the job data with one download, allowing for a hands-off operator setup.
TAIWAN - PCB makers in Taiwan are showing solid sales in PCB production for the automotive market, with Chin-Poon Industrial increasing its manufacturing of PCBs for automobile security applications, and Unitech PCB already seeing strong sales in this segment.

Chin-Poon supplies PCBs for use for automobile on-board computer and brake systems. Industry reports indicate that sales to automobile customers are likely to grow by more than 35% in 2008.

Unitech focuses its automobile PCB technology on engine control systems, steering, and telematics applications, as well as GPS. The company reportedly markets the majority of its auto PCB products to customers in Japan and Germany.

Unitech indicated that Continental is estimated to increase its purchases from the company by over 15% this year to become Unitech's second-largest customer. Overall GPS PCB sales are expected to weaken somewhat, due to market competition

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - Teknek has increased its US presence by reaching a distributor agreement with West Coast based Technica and East Coast based Atlantech.  These two companies will assume responsibility for the Teknek product line within the electronics market.

Teknek produces contact cleaning equipment for a claimed increase in manufacturing yield by reducing waste by removing contamination from the production process.

Stephen Mitchell, Teknek CEO said, "We have had a good working relationship with Technica for many years.  Now that Technica has a strong East Coast partner in Atlantech and… made sense to formalize the arrangement and let them sell our product alongside it."
