INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Old Bridge Metals & Chemicals and Micronutrients has announced that Micronutrients has acquired the fresh alkaline and spent etchant recycling business from Old Bridge Metals & Chemicals.

Old Bridge Metals & Chemicals will cease the manufacturing and the recycling of alkaline etchants for the PCB industry by the third quarter 2008.

Micronutrients will continue to manufacture and supply ammoniacal etchants to the PCB industry and to collect the spent materials at its facility in Indianapolis.

According to a release, this transaction will not affect Old Bridge Metals & Chemicals’ copper sulfate and copper carbonate manufacturing businesses, or their manufacture of inorganic chemicals including zinc sulfate and zinc chloride.

LISLE, ILMolex Inc. has completed its previously announced acquisition of Taipei-based AFlextech Inc.  No financial terms were disclosed.
 
AFlextech designs and manufactures flexible circuits and assemblies. GM Sando Chen says the company also offers Molex-expanded capabilities for SMT, through-hole and hybrid assembly.
 
The company will operate as a subsidiary of Molex and will be part of the company’s Global Integrated Products Division.
 
Founded in 2003, AFlextech has sales of approximately $25 million and 300 employees.
LUXEMBOURG -- ESO Luxco I will acquire some of the Mania Technologie AG, Mania Deutschland GmbH and Mania Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH businesses.

NIEDERNHALL, GERMANY -- Würth Elektronik was awarded “PCB Supplier of the Year 2007” by BMK professional electronics GmbH.

Würth Elektronik won out over 26 other circuit board suppliers. Würth Elektronik is a longstanding strategic supplier to BMK. The prize, awarded this year by the BMK Group for the first time, takes adherence to deadlines and product quality as well as reliability and staff competence into consideration.

Würth Elektronik manufactures circuit boards, passive and electromechanical components, system assemblies and photovoltaic modules. The company employs over 7,600 people and had an annual sales of 369 million Euro in 2007.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Dow Chemical has reported that in a continuing attempt to offset increasing costs for energy and raw materials, it will raise the prices of its products again by as much as 25%.
