MELVILLE, NY -- Park Electrochemical reported second-quarter net sales of $44.5 million, down 3.2% from a year ago. For the period ended Sept. 1, the printed circuit laminate manufacturer reported net earnings of $8.1 million, up from $3.3 million in the August 2012 quarter.

BANNOCKBURN, IL — A Chinese government agency has postponed implementation of a new regulation that would eliminate cyanide-gold plating effective at the end of 2014. Despite opposition from several trade groups, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China issued the requirement to eliminate auric potassium cyanide gold electroplating and potassium aurocyanide gold plating processes last February.

ENDICOTT, NY -- The former head of Endicott Interconnect Technologies has won a bid to buy the bankrupt company. Integrian Holdings, a company set up earlier this year by James Matthews Jr., beat out three other bidders for the printed circuit board manufacturer.

DEESIDE, NORTH WALES -- Falcon PCB Group will consolidate operations and rebrand as Merlin PCB Group, the company said. Its rigid PCB fabrication plant, Merlin Circuit Technology, and flex circuit site, Merlin Flex-Ability, have expanded of late, giving the company the opportunity to close its 27,000 sq. ft site in Littlehampton.
