COLUMBUS, OH -- Viasystems' PCB fabrication plant in Forest Grove, OR, has been removed from the Qualified Products List and Qualified Manufacturers List for supplying to the US Department of Defense, the DSSC indicated.
The plant was removed as a qualified supplier of MIL-PRF-31032 and MIL-PRF-55110 products due to failure to submit sufficient data required in 2013 and 2014, and failure to address deficiencies found during a March 2014 site audit.
Corrective actions have not been submitted since June 17, 2014 even though monthly submissions were required by the Defense Logistics Agency, DSSC said in a letter to Viasystems dated Jan. 14, 2015.
Viasystems is in the process of being acquired by TTM Technologies, a deal that would reportedly make TTM the majority supplier of PCBs to the US DoD.
On the same date as Viasystems' removal notice, TTM's plant in Costa Mesa was issued MIL-PRF-31032 qualification.
