SHENZHEN -- The 2013 International Printed Circuit & APEX South China Fair opened yesterday at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, and boosted by the addition of the IPC Apex assembly show, attendance and exhibition space have both set new records.

This year’s event has grown by over 20% over 2012, show organizers said, and included 500 exhibitors across 42,000 sq. m. of floor space.

The three-day event, previously known as the International Printed Circuit & Electronics Assembly Fair, is produced by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association, IPC and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ).

In his opening speech, HKPCA chairman Canice Chung said, “Even with uncertainties in the global economy and slow recovery seen in both Europe and the US, we appreciate our exhibitors and visitors supporting us and wish that the Fair continues to be a great platform for you to meet, catch up and do business. Each year, deals and alliances are forged here that helps to shape the industry in many ways, making the Fair an essential event on the PCB industry calendar.”

IPC vice chairman Marc Peo said, “IPC is pleased to bring the Apex brand to this event. Over the next few days, as you learn about new advancements, processes and opportunities that will help you address your challenges at work, I hope you will also keep in mind the importance of banding together with the IPC community to ensure we have the strength and presence to make the next generation of innovations and technologies a reality.”
