TAIPEI – Ichia Technology expects revenues from its flexible printed circuit board business to increase this year, the company said.
Flex boards are expected to be more than 70% of the firm’s total revenues in 2013, up from 65% in 2012. Consolidated revenues decreased 27.8% sequentially to $60 million in the first quarter on usual seasonality.
The firm has installed new SMT lines to assemble flex circuits, and will hike its total SMT capacity to 45 lines in 2013.
The company supplies flex circuits for consumer products such as smartphones and tablets, although its handset keypad business will continue to shrink this year. Ichia's handset keypad revenues saw a 50% decline in shipments in 2012.
