MIGDAL HAEMEK, ISRAEL -- Camtek today reported second-quarter net income rose 378% to $2.2 million on greater demand for PCB automated inspection equipment.
For the period ended June 30, the AOI OEM recorded record sales as revenues reached $28.8 million, up 38% year-over-year and 4.8% sequentially.
Growth was the result of continued higher customer demand, plus new accounts. Semiconductor product revenues in the quarter fell 5% due to the softening in these markets, while revenues from printed circuit board AOI machines increased approximately 19%.
Cash flow from operations was $1.5 million, and at quarter's end Camtek had $12.3 million in cash and equivalents.
CEO Roy Porat said, "While many of our peers in the semiconductor industry see some softening ahead, we see good order momentum and expect a sequentially more-or-less flat quarter with anticipated revenues of between $27.5 million and $29.5 million."
