SEOUL -- Korean printed circuit board fabricators are pushing hard into the HDI sector, with sales of IC substrates up 21% year-over-year in the first quarter.

IC substrate revenues among domestic fabricators reached 2.3 billion won, the Korea Printed Circuit Association says. If the gains hold, it would be the third straight year of 20%-plus growth for that sector. The nation's annual PCB growth is 7 to 8%, KPCA says.
