ROGERS, CT -- Rogers Corp. reported printed circuit material sales rose 37% year-over-year for the period ended June 30.

The net profit was $8.3 million, reversing a loss of $67.5 million last year. Overall second-quarter revenues were up more than 40% to $96.6 million, beating updated company guidance of $90 million to $94 million. Gross margin was 38.6%, a company record, up 13.3 percentage points from 2009.

Sales of Printed Circuit Materials for the second quarter of 2010 were $33.6 million, an increase of 37% from 2009 on defense and other high reliability markets, and wireless infrastructure orders from North America, China and Europe.

Rogers’ 50%-owned joint ventures had second quarter sales of $22.9 million, including $4.4 million from the Polyimide Laminate Systems joint venture with Mitsui Chemicals, which was dissolved on March 31.

The company said there is no indication that customers are building inventory.
