ROGERS, CT – Rogers Corp. reported second-quarter sales fell 27% from last year to $67.4 million. For the first half of the year, sales slipped 30% to $132.8 million.

For the quarter ended June 30, net loss, including special charges, was $67.5 million, compared to a net income of $6.9 million last year.

All segments saw drops in sales year-over-year. Printed circuit materials declined 16.9% to $24.5 million, while high performance foam and custom electrical components were down 14.8% and 50.4% respectively.

Joint venture sales for the quarter dropped 20.5% from last year to $23.2 million on declines in consumer electronics, excess inventories and weak markets for cell phones and hard disk drives.

The company forecast third-quarter sales between $68 million and $73 million.
