TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) reported first-quarter consolidated revenues of NT$17.25 billion (US$522.61 million) on increased notebook shipments and cost reductions, says DigiTimes.
 
Net profit was NT$204 million (US$6.2 million).
 
For the quarter, the company shipped nearly 4.08 million motherboards, but it expects a 10% to 15% drop in second-quarter shipments. Netbook and notebook shipments totaled nearly 150,000 and 700,000 respectively, reports DigiTimes.
 
For the year, notebook shipments are expected to be 4.5 million units, with motherboard shipments totaling 21 million.
 
ECS has also begun development of all-in-one PCs and plans to introduce them to the entry-level market during the third quarter, according to DigiTimes.
