TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Unimicron Technology expects second-quarter revenue to increase on a rise in sales from HDI boards, reports DigiTimes.

Revenue from notebook PCBs is forecast at 8%, a slight improvement from 5% in the first quarter. Notebooks containing HDI boards are predicted to be between 30% and 40%.

The company expects utilization rate of more than 80% for the quarter. Notebook PCBs, IC substrates and handsets have seen strong growth, but PC-related products are showing a weak demand, says the company.

Unimicron is the third-largest PCB fabricator in the world, according to Dr. Hayao Nakahara’s NTI 100 list.
