TAIPEI, TAIWAN – This year is looking good for notebook PCB shipments. Numbers are expected to increase, on netbook and ultra-thin notebook demand, reports DigiTimes.
HannStar Board reported over 70% notebook revenue share for the first quarter. The company predicts netbook shipments will continue to increase quarter-by-quarter.
Tripod Technology saw first-quarter revenue share climb 12%. The company shipped 10 million notebooks last year and expects the segment to steadily drive growth on a long-term basis, according to the company.
New kid on the block,
Global Brand Manufacture (GBM) joined the market in the second half of 2008 and shipped 2 million units last year. It won orders from
Quanta Computer,
Inventec and
Asustek Computer and plans to gain
Compal Electronics’ business this year, reports DigiTimes.
Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) is predicting to see 30 million units shipped this year, on netbook demand. By the second half of 2009,
Dynamic Electronics plans to increase HDI board production capacity by 100,000 square feet, says DigiTimes. Notebook PCBs comprise 17% of total revenues for the company.
