TAIPEI, TAIWAN – It looks like spring is awakening the IC substrate market. Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (NPC), Phoenix Precision Technology (PPT) and Unimicron Technology are seeing utilization rates jump to 50% and order visibility extending through mid-April, reports DigiTimes.

The welcomed change is due to handset, PC and graphic card chip sectors building inventories.

NPC could see its March revenues reach NT$1.7 to $1.8 billion (US$50.32 million to $53.28 million), on increased flip-chip and wire-bonding orders, according to DigiTimes.

Unimicron is reporting strong PCB and IC substrate shipments for March, on improved notebook and handset demand, as well as graphic card applications. Consolidated revenues are predicted to increase 20%, exceeding NT$2.8 billion (US$82.7 million), reports DigiTimes.
