AIKEN COUNTY, SC – AGY will invest $12.1 million to expand specialty glass fiber production at its Aiken County facility, adding 80 jobs and increasing US capacity for materials used in semiconductor packaging and high-performance printed circuit boards. Operations are expected to begin in early 2026.
The project boosts output of AGY’s low-dielectric constant (Low Dk) and low-dissipation factor (Low Df) fibers. These materials play a growing role in next-generation semiconductor packaging architectures as signal integrity demands rise.
The expansion is located at the company’s Wagener Road site and includes upgrades to manufacturing infrastructure. A $200,000 state set-aside grant will support building renovations.
State and local officials noted that AGY remains the only domestic supplier of these specialized glass fibers, underscoring the material’s strategic importance to both commercial electronics and national security applications.
The upgraded facility is slated to come online in the first quarter of 2026. Interested applicants can apply through AGY’s careers portal.
