LEOBEN, AUSTRIA – AT&S saw annual sales fall by 13% year-over-year to total €1.55 billion ($1.68 billion).

“We see AT&S back on track for growth in the new 2024/25 financial year," said CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer. "The general market recovery in our industry expected for the second half of the 2024/25 financial year should have a positive impact on demand and thus the utilization of our existing plants. The company's growth will be supported by the start of high-volume production in our two new plants in Kulim and Leoben at the end of the financial year. This will enable us to further advance our already initiated diversification of the customer portfolio for IC substrates and to address additional applications in the areas of data management and AI. In order to counteract the continued price pressure expected in the industry, we have further intensified the efficiency programs we are already running. In this context, in addition to numerous other cost-cutting effects, there will also be a reduction of up to 1,000 employees in the existing locations."

AT&S projects sales between €1.7 billion and €1.8 billion for the 2024/2025 financial year, and sales of around €3.1 billion in the 2026/2027.

"AT&S will grow with AI," said Gerstenmayer. "We also supply the right technology for AI, from substrates for AI processors to efficient energy management solutions for IT infrastructure such as servers and data centers.” Also in the area of so-called on-device AI, in which end devices such as smartphones and notebooks to be equipped with AI functionalities, AT&S is a sought-after technology partner. AMD, one of the world market leaders in the semiconductor sector, was acquired as a customer for this segment, and three other new well-known US technology customers have also specialized in AI solutions and rely on AT&S technology. Gerstenmayer: “AT&S has established itself as a technology partner in the industry and with customers over the years. Our customers value our innovative strength, reliability and solution orientation. This enables us to regularly win new customers for various future-oriented applications."
