FOUNTAIN INN, SC – Kyocera AVX is set to acquire Rohm Semiconductor’s tantalum and polymer capacitor business assets.

The two companies reached a final agreement, which states Rohm Semiconductor will transfer its tantalum and polymer capacitor business assets, including its tantalum and polymer capacitor manufacturing lines and relevant IP, to Kyocera AVX for an undisclosed sum.

The transfer is scheduled to be executed on Aug. 5, and Rohm will continue to produce tantalum and polymer capacitor products and supply them to Kyocera AVX until all relevant production lines have been successfully transferred to the new manufacturing site.
