TAOYUAN, TAIWAN – HannStar Board posted August revenues up 8.8% year-over-year to NT$4.2 billion (US$144.4 million), while Gold Circuit Electronics saw revenues of NT$2.2 billion, up 42%, say reports.

The rigid PCB makers hit record highs because of notebook shipments and networking applications. The firms are expected to see large revenue and profit surges from continued shipments of high-end PCBs in the coming months.

High-end commercial and gaming notebooks will experience stable momentum because of seasonal demand, with educational models expected to be the top sales segment in second half of 2020.

Both companies have increased shipments for higher-end switch, router and server applications to meet cloud data transmission demand resulting from a work-at-home economy.

HannStar's rigid PCB shipments for game consoles will increase in the coming months, as Sony and Microsoft release new models in the fourth quarter.

GCE will maintain an advantage in the supply of PCBs with high layers for datacenter servers and 100G and 400G switches.
