WASHINGTON, DC – The Semiconductor Industry Association stated its approval of a new bill funding research into of quantum technology applications that passed the US House of Representatives.
The National Quantum Initiative Act is designed to ensure US leadership in quantum technology. The bill would allocate at least $750 million over 10 years to accelerate development of quantum information science and technology applications, with as much as $1.28 billion in funding for R&D programs at the Energy Department, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
