FRANKFURT, GERMANY – The worldwide components market grew 14% to about $666 billion in 2018, according to the Germany trade group ZVEI Electronic Components and Systems Association.
China, the largest individual market, was up 19% to $232 billion, good for one-third of global sales. For the year, North America rose 13%; Europe was up 12%, and Japan grew 10%.
The German market for electronic components will grow nearly 6% to €22 billion ($24.8 billion) by the end of the year, a new record, says Philip Harting, chairman of ZVEI.
