AURORA, CO -- Advanced Circuits reported sales of $21.1 million in the fourth quarter, up 1.4% year-over-year.
Operating income for the quarter was $8.6 million, up 62% from $5.3 million a year ago.
For the year ended Dec. 31, net sales were down 1.7% to $86 million. Operating income fell 5.8% to $22.7 million. Advanced Circuits' sales and operating income made up 8.8% and 39.8%, respectively, of its parent company's for 2016. Quickturn production made up 32% of sales, volume production (including assembly) comprised 45%, and small-run production made up 22%. About 1.2% of sales came from brokered boards.
For the year, Advanced Circuits received on average over 300 customer orders per day. During 2016, Advanced Circuits did business with over 9,000 customers and added over 180 new customers. No customer represented more than 2% of overall sales.
The company said it hopes to increase revenue from small-run and quickturn production in the future.
