TAIPEI – Revenue by Taiwan's printed circuit board fabricators is expected to increase 1.5% year-over-year in 2015 to $17.6 billion as lower consumer demand takes its tool, according to the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association.
In the second quarter, Taiwan and China’s PCB revenue totaled $4.2 billion, up 1.1% year-over-year and 1.8% sequentially. Third-quarter sales are expected to rise 5.9% sequentially but fall 4.3% versus 2014 due to typical seasonality.
The trade group said sales have been affected by a slowdown in end-market demand for PCs, smartphones and notebooks.
The global PCB industry is expected to grow less than 3% in 2015 from the $56.5 billion recorded a year earlier, according to Prismark.
