SAN JOSE – Cadence Design Systems reported second-quarter 2012 revenue of $326 million, up 15.2% year-over-year.
GAAP net income was $36 million, up 33.3% compared to the same quarter last year.
Cadence is a leading provider of software for printed circuit board and semiconductor design.
“Our 20-nanometer engagements have expanded; use of our Azuro technology acquired in 2011 increased; our emulation business significantly exceeded expectations; we had a strong quarter for both design and verification IP, and the acquisition of Sigrity has significantly enhanced our printed circuit board product line,” said Lip-Bu Tan, president and chief executive officer.
For the third quarter, the firm expects total revenue in the range of $325 million to $335 million. For 2012, the company expects revenue in the range of $1.295 billion to $1.315 billion.
