PITTSBURGH, PA -- Ansys reported fourth-quarter net income slipped $1.6 million to $47.5 million, but the company set new marks for revenue and cash flow in 2011.

Revenue rose $32.6 million from a year ago to $198.2 million. Operating profit margin was up 30 basis points to 36.9%. All major regions saw double-digit revenue growth.

For the year, revenue rose $111.2 million to $691.4 million. Net income rose $27.6 million frm 2010 to $180.7 million. Cash flow from operations nearly doubled to $307.7 million.

Ansys president and CEOJ im Cashman said, "We are pleased to announce a strong finish to another milestone quarter and year. 2011 was an exciting year for us on many fronts, including four consecutive quarters of strong revenue, earnings, margins and cash flows, which exceeded our initial annual commitments coming into the year.

Ansys is a developer of software for high-frequency and other related applications.
