LONDON – Premier Farnell has made available more than 45,000 CAD model files for electronics design.

The models support products from many of the world’s leading component and semiconductor suppliers, and used alongside PCB design tools can aid printed circuit board design, the company said.

The CAD models are available from Premier Farnell’s element14, Newark and Farnell brands and can be downloaded free of charge. Designers can use the CAD model symbols and footprints in the company's Eagle CAD software to create board-level schematics and PCB physical design layouts.

“Providing online access to this rich library of CAD models is just one part of our strategy to support design engineers in every step of the design flow,” said David Shen, Group senior vice president and global head of technical marketing.
