REGENSBURG, GERMANY -- EasyLogix Software Development has become the latest company to join the IPC-2581 Consortium, a growing group of PCB design software developers, fabricators, assemblers and OEMs seeking a neutral format for electronics data transfer.
EasyLogix, developer of the PCB Investigator line of CAD/CAM software, called the need for a neutral standard "very important."
“To have an open standard for PCB data is very important to easily share data between different tools. This will enable developers to concentrate on their product. IPC-2581 is already in the focus of PCB-Investigator and will support it in the second quarter 2012. With this standard format we can concentrate on future demands for PCBs. Speaking the same language is also very important for CAD formats. This approach will be a benefit for all.”
The goal of the IPC-2581 Consortium is to enable, facilitate and drive the use of IPC-2581 format.
