SMYRNA, GA – PCB West celebrated its 20th anniversary in style this week, as attendance for the annual trade show rose 30.4% from last year.

Trade show registration rose 17% year-over-year to nearly 2,000 designers, engineers and managers, according to UP Media Group, which produces the Silicon Valley-based show. More than 1,250 attendees came to the event.

Conference attendance jumped 25%, boosted in part by presentations from several new speakers and a special one-day assembly track developed by the SMTA Silicon Valley Chapter.

PCB West was held September 27 – 29 at the Santa Clara (CA) Convention Center and was sponsored by PCD&F and CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY.

“For the second straight year, attendance rose more than 30%,” said Mike Buetow, editorial director of UP Media Group. “Sessions on RF and microwave design were particularly popular. The exhibition hall was shoulder-to-shoulder with attendees during the peak period, and many exhibitors reported running out of literature early in the afternoon.”

In its 20th year, PCB West provides show attendees – printed circuit board (PCB) engineers, designers, fabricators, assemblers and managers – with the most targeted conference in the PCB design industry.

PCB West 2011 included a three-day technical conference consisting of more than 50 presentations, including 10 workshops, panel sessions and half-day seminars; a one-day exhibition, featuring the PCB industry's leading vendors; and an array of free technical sessions.

Next year’s PCB West will take place Sept. 25 – 27, 2012, at the Santa Clara (CA) Convention Center.
