SAN JOSE -- Cadence Design Systems swung to a second-quarter net profit of $49 million as business improved in all geographies.
The EDA software giant reported second-quarter revenue of $227 million, up 8% from 2009.
Cadence reported a net loss of $74 million in the same period in 2009.
For the period ended July 3, System Interconnect sales made up 10% ($22.7 million) of revenue and Design for Manufacturing products made up 6% ($13.6 million). The Americas contributed 46% of total sales for the period.
"The Cadence team executed and delivered solid results in the second quarter," said Lip-Bu Tan, president and chief executive officer. "The combination of our strong technology portfolio with the closer collaboration of our sales and R&D teams is yielding results."
Cadence guided for third-quarter revenue of $225 million to $235 million and full-year revenue of $900 million to $925 million.
