SAN JOSE - The EDA Consortium Market Statistics Service reported the EDA industry revenues are up 7.2% to $1,412.1 million for Q3 2007.

The companies tracked employed 27,254 professionals in Q3 2007, up 8.1 percent from Q3 2006.

Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), had revenue of $564.6 million up 13.4% from Q3 2006. Physical Design & Verification revenue increased to $372.8 million in Q3 2007 up 5.4% from Q3 2006. Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) revenue was $263.2 million up 3.2% from Q3 2006. Services revenue was $83.8 million in Q3 2007, an 11.6% increase.

Printed Circuit Boards and Multi-Chip Module (PCB & MCM) saw a revenue decrease, down 6.4% versus Q3 2006 to $127.7 million. This follows on a 1.9% increase in Q2 2007 and a 59% growth in Q1 2007. The fourth quarter moving average growth rate is 13.3%
 
North America purchases declined 1.9% in Q3 2007 to $624.2 million versus Q3 2006. Western Europe revenue was $284.5 million up 13% from Q3 2006. Japan Q3 2007 increased to $300.9 million up 14.2% compared to Q3 2006. Rest-of-World (ROW) continued expand up 22.2% with sales increasing to $202.4 million.

The EDA Consortium Market Statistics Service reports EDA industry revenue data quarterly. Both public and private companies contribution are included in the report. The report is published 3 months after the close of the quarter.
