SAN DIEGO – Ultra Librarian has teamed with Nexar, a business unit of Altium, to offer CAD libraries via the Octopart search engine.
Nexar enables the integration of software applications and workflows across the end-to-end printed circuit board design-to-manufacturing process. Ultra Librarian has more than 16 million free, ready-to-use CAD models online.
The partnership will connect component technical data, lifecycle status and CAD models in their native eCAD platform.
“Ultra Librarian shares Altium’s vision of streamlining and improving the design process. Designers today have so many tasks and responsibilities. Our mission is to make sure the tedious process of accessing, creating, and managing CAD models is not one of them,” said Frank Frank, product architect and founder at Ultra Librarian. “We look forward to collaborating with Nexar to create a first-class design experience through the integration of our CAD models into a unified workflow.”
“We are excited that Ultra Librarian has joined the Nexar community. In today’s supply-constrained environment, having access to more comprehensive CAD model libraries will help designers ensure their electronic products are producible,” said Ted Pawela, chief ecosystem officer of Altium and head of Nexar. “Octopart, part of the Nexar ecosystem, will be the first to launch this capability as part of our vision to unify the design and component search experience in real-time and on the cloud.”
Octopart is a cloud-enabled electronic part search engine powered by part data and intelligence from the Nexar API. Ultra Librarian PCB CAD libraries will be available in December on Octopart.
