DFMStream version 10.8 design for manufacturing tool features improved analysis flow to shorten the time required to setup a design for DfM and to quickly parse the resulting analysis data to isolate potential manufacturing defects prior to PCB fabrication. New functionality includes a pre-process check that automatically prepares imported CAM data for DfM checking without modifying the original data. This pre-process removes covered and redundant data, optimizes polygon data, and auto-detects and ignores text strings that are often found in Gerber files. This intelligent processing reduces the amount of data manipulation required to get meaningful DfM results. Other enhancements include locking and unlocking layer visibility during error cross-probing while retaining error marker location; limiting annular ring checks to associated pads; and improved zoom control when probing DfM errors. Analysis results provide greater detail to help resolve DfM conflicts and users are given a quick “pass/fail” status of each check to ensure which checks were processed and which checks failed. Includes IPC-2581 import and export functions.

CAM350 version 10.8 offers new IPC-2581 functionality, usability enhancements to Streams Rules Checks, and live product updates provided via RSS Feed.

BluePrint-PCB v. 3.5 documentation tool features a new Document wizard to automate document creation, new release update functionality for large installations, UNICODE export support for PDF Export, new system variables, significant modifications to partlist tables for variants, GD&T sizing for callout shapes, case detection for spell checking, and improvements to noteblocks and drill charts.
