TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Notebook PCB makers are expecting an improved third quarter resulting from the launch of ultra-thin notebooks and the increase in seasonal demand, reports DigiTimes. 

HannStar Board and Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) are expecting third-quarter notebook shipments to climb 15%.  

HannStar forecast ultra-thin notebook shipments to double for the quarter to 700,000 units. It has also increased monthly HDI capacity to 250,000 square feet. 

GCE predicts third-quarter notebook HDI board shipments to reach 800,000 units. Overall notebook shipments are expected to reach 8 million units.

GARBSEN, GERMANY – LPKF reported second-quarter sales rose 11% year-over-year to €12.4 million, and EBIT doubled to €1.6 million.
