DALLAS, TX – China is not only the largest PCB producer, it continues to be the fastest growing, according to a new report.

In 2016, output will reach $48 billion in China, accounting for 49.4% of the global PCB output value, says Market Reports China. In 2012, there were 791 printed circuit board shops and their production topped CNY 250 billion ($41 billion).

Currently, communications equipment, consumer and automotive electronics, and computers and related products are the major end-markets for PCBs, accounting for about 80% of the total market demand, the firm says. Emerging 3G mobile phones, automotive electronics, LCD, IPTV, digital TV, and computer replacement will increase sales going forward.

The PCB industry in mainland China will maintain its rapid growth over the next three years, the firm says. The rapid development of the domestic 3G industry, as well as smartphones, tablets and green base stations will have a strong pull on PCB growth.
