COSTA MESA, CA -- TTM Technologies has named Thomas Edman president, effective Jan. 7.

Edman, who will report to CEO Kent Alder, has more than 20 years' executive experience and extensive electronics industry experience in the US and Asia. Most recently he was group vice president and general manager of the AKT Display Group at Applied Materials. He has been a director of TTM since September 2004.

In a statement, Alder said, "The PCB market is extremely competitive and requires a global view and in-depth understanding of the worldwide economy and advanced areas of technology. Tom's extensive experience in the electronics sector, coupled with his deep knowledge of both the U.S. and Asian markets, will be valuable additions to TTM."

TTM is the US's largest and the world's seventh largest printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer, according to Dr. Hayao Nakahara's NTI 100.
