TAIPEI -- Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) first-half revenue rose 25% year-over-year to NT$1.89 trillion ($63.2 billion) on higher demand for iPhones and iPads.

Net profits rose 0.005% from last year to NT$ 27.53 billion ($918 million).

The company also reversed its previously stated accounting losses after the Taiwanese government vetoed its intended $800 million investment in Sharp.

Foxconn previously had agreed to take a 9.9% stake in Sharp's LCD panel business for about $800 million. Discussions are ongoing.

The EMS/ODM company took a book loss of NT$4.5 billion, with subsidiary Foxconn Technology taking a book loss of NT$2.26 billion.

Foxconn is the world's largest contract electronics assembler and is the fourth largest printed circuit board fabricator.
