SHANNON, IRELAND -- PCB fabricator Beta Layout will acquire Vacaville, CA-based Sprig Circuits, PCD&F has learned. Terms are not yet known.
It will be Beta's first US-based shop. The privately held company, which was founded in 1989, has annual sales of more than $18.5 million euros and 150 employees.
Sprig will be renamed Beta Layout USA. According to Beta managing director Elizabeth Nolan, "We shipped over 1,000 orders to the US last year. It was time to actually be here on the ground with our own US facility."
Beta heads a group of three printed circuit board fabrication sites in Germany. It also has operations in South Africa and Ireland.
Sprig was founded in 1994 and is a supplier to the defense and other industries.
