HONG KONG -- The latest incarnation of the HKPCA Show opened this week in Shenzhen amid expressions of confidence in the industry’s future from leading industry figures.

The show, the largest of its kind for PCBs in Southern China, runs through Friday. Now in its ninth year, total visits are expected to exceed 30,000 at the 380 exhibitors.

With order books filling and major producers expanding capacity, industry leaders are predicting a period of sustained development for the PCB industry. “The economic environment has significantly improved since the second half of 2009, particularly for China’s PCB manufacturing industry," HKPCA Chairman Ivy Wong. "China [will] make up 36% of global PCB production value in 2010, with continuous orders from producers of consumer electronics and automobiles.

The technical conference held in conjunction with the show runs through today.
