HUBEI, CHINA – Hubei resumed work on Mar. 11. As a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, production here previously shut down for nearly a month.

In addition to prior capacity deployment by various factories, analysts consider the production capacity in the second quarter will improve. However, backend assembly and the status of terminal demands still need attention, says Taiwan Printed Circuit Association.

To maintain supply chains, China released a notice on Mar. 3 demanding conditions for work continuation be relaxed, while manufacturers recruit new staff.

Hubei is the last in China to resume operations, says TPCA. Tripod-Tec is currently transferring orders from the Xiantao Plant to the Wuxi plant, where as much as 80% of work has resumed. Compeq is still working on assigning the production capacity between Taiwan and China. In addition to the remaining employees who stayed in the factories during the Chinese New Year, its Chongqing plant is working at 80%; Huizhou has resumed 70% of work, and Suzhou has resumed 50% of work. AEM’s Kunshan plant has slowly resumed production capacity since Feb. 15.
