WILSONVILLE, OR – Mentor Graphics reported fiscal first-quarter revenues of $252.2 million, up 11.3% year-over-year.
The firm posted a GAAP net loss of $2.55 million for the period ended Apr. 30, compared to GAAP net income of $205,000 for the same period last year.
Operating income for the three-month period was $1.64 million, down 72.1% compared to the prior-year’s fiscal first quarter.
“First-quarter results were better than our guidance, driven largely by strong revenue growth in scalable verification, particularly emulation,” said Walden C. Rhines, chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics.
For the second quarter of fiscal 2015, the company expects revenues of about $250 million.
For full-year fiscal 2015, the company expects revenues of about $1.237 billion.
During the quarter, the firm repurchased approximately two million shares for $45 million.
