SAN DIEGO -- PCB Libraries has returned and is again offering advanced PCB library solutions.
The company, founded in 2003 by Tom Hausherr and Nick Ban, develops original PCB footprint applications using multiple standards, including IPC-7351B, the upcoming IPC-7351C, IEC, EIA, and component manufacturer recommendations, as well as corporate and customer-specific requirements.
The company's library management solution using high-resolution parts based on 10µm technology, said to be more accurate than other library solutions. Its flagship product, Footprint Expert, is a PCB part library management solution that supports all CAD formats via a library management/generation software tool.
PCB Footprint Expert maintains basic component dimensional data, to which user-defined preferences can be applied to rebuild entire libraries. Library management is set up to handle metric, adjust pad shapes, rotate lands, and change tolerances. Footprint Expert currently exports to formats readable by Allegro, Altium Designer, CADStar, Eagle, Mentor Graphics' Expedition, Cadence OrCAD PCB, Mentor's Pads Layout, Pulsonix, and more are in development. The company is also building a centralized repository for libraries in all CAD formats.
“We are excited for the opportunity to be back and we are grateful to those who supported us since 2003, when PCB Libraries opened,” said Tom Hausherr, CEO. “Expect big things from us in the coming year.”
PCB Libraries, which later became PCB Matrix, sold its LP Software product in 2008 to Valor, which subsequently was acquired by Mentor Graphics.
