CARLSBAD, CA -- Altium today announced a comprehensive new range of board-level components from STMicroelectronics' Power Management catalog to its online content delivery ecosystem.
The announcement marks the latest expansion of Altium's partnership program, which aims to forge collaborative relationships with a broad group of electronic component manufacturers and distributors. The agreements permit Altium to provide info on board-level components including real-time supply-chain information, such as vendor choice, pricing and availability.
"Collaboration between Altium and parts manufacturers helps us produce high-integrity design IP for our customers," said Rowland Washington, content development manager for Altium. "We are pleased to be working with companies such as STMicroelectronics to develop an ever increasing range of third-party libraries, templates, reference designs and other ready-to-use design content."
This latest update to the board-level component content available through AltiumLive has been developed in close collaboration with STMicroelectronics, and includes a comprehensive array of STMicroelectronics' energy-efficient Power Management devices. The new range adds to the STMicroelectronics components already available in Altium's board-level component vault, which include the company's STM8 and STM32 family of microcontrollers, sensors and MEMS-based devices.
"The cooperative relationship between STMicroelectronics and Altium helps both companies deliver high-quality component data into the hand of designers during the critical design development phase," said Bill Raasch, STMicroelectronics vice president of product marketing for smart power and high-performance analog. "Providing our latest component content via online services linked to design software is a logical path forward."
