CANONSBURG, PA -- Ansys reported second quarter net income rose 28% year-over-year to $45.4 million.
For the period ended June 30, revenue rose 18% to $162.3 million on broad-based demand for the company's simulation software.
"The strong second-quarter numbers are a reflection of continued momentum built upon our long-term foundation of technological leadership and sustained performance," said CEO and president Jim Cashman. "Despite the macro-economic volatility, we focused our effort on the things we can control and made considerable progress."
In a conference call with analysts, Cashman said Ansys was raising its core organic outlook for the year.
The results did not include sales from Apache Design Solutions, which Ansys acquired on Aug. 1.
