New Products

Nextreme Thermal Solutions introduces the eTEC Thermoelectric Cooling Kit. Features include a single UPF40 thermoelectric module, and air-tight cooling environment and electrical connectors for accurate temperature measurements of thin-film thermoelectric devices.

The UPF40 module allows for precise cooling and temperature control of opto-electronic applications with high heat-flux requirements in very small packages (laser diodes, high-brightness LEDs, VCSELs).

The kit provides a full thermal path while needing only an adjustable power supply, a volt meter and a two-channel, type K thermocouple readout to measure temperature differentials.

Bosch Rexroth AG introduces tensioning connectors. The product can be inserted or swiveled into grooves without profile machining, as well as retrofitted into existing constructions, saving assembly time and reducing cost.

Adapted for profiles with 8-mm and 10-mm grooves, the connectors work with all profile cross sections available in the company’s Basic Mechanical Elements modular system and require only one tool. The product is also available in ESD-compatible versions.

The connectors are reported to withstand bending loads up to 35 Nm and 110 Nm, as well as sliding forces of maximum 1,000 N and 3,500 N.

Wuerth Elektronik introduces printed pulse resistors for various voltage ranges. The product is reported to reach 200,000 V and to have increased reliability at high levels of thermo cycles. It has withstood temperature cycle tests of -40° C / +125° C, up to 3,000 cycles.

The resistors can be printed on the innerlayer of multilayer boards, saving space on external layers. Because they have no solder joints, they are not affected by any solder defects.

Yamaichi Electronics introduces the MatchCon series of connectors. The connectors feature a special contact design for applications with strong vibration exposure, such as the automotive sector. Male and female contacts interlock, providing a high contact force and eliminating the typical fretting seen with tin-plated versions.

Based on a 1.27-mm pitch, the series provide a variety of 90° and 180° board connectors in SMT and with TH pins. The cable connection is secured by IDC technology and by an additional locking between the board and cable connector.

Versions are available in 6 to 26 pin counts.

Ucamco introduces the FlashRip raster image processor. FlashRip is optimized for ripping and plotting very fine line images down to 4 μm features for HDI PCBs and chip-scale packaging substrates for BGA, FC-CSP and FC-BGA/LGA packages.

The company reports increases in throughput up to 100%, depending on plotter model and job complexity.
