VIENNA, AUSTRIA – The largest European-owned PCB fabricator, and a top 20 worldwide producer, AT&S, announced it is shifting production from Europe to Asia. The company stated it would also be “improving efficiency levels in Austria.”

CRANSTON, RI – Technic Inc. has expanded with the addition of a new corporate headquarters.

The 25,000 sq. ft. building is located adjacent to its existing facility and will house corporate administrative and sales offices, as well as customer support services and training facilities.

Technic is a global supplier of proprietary chemistries, specialized custom finishing equipment, engineers powders and analytical control systems to the electronic component, PCB, semiconductor, photovoltaic and industrial finishing industries.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Copper foil quotes are expected to increase in June and July, reports DigiTimes, as copper prices continue to climb.

The price of copper rose 4% in May to $4,850 per ton, while the beginning of June saw the price at $5,070 per ton.

Average copper foil quotes are expected to rise 2% in June, says DigiTimes, with the price for copper foil up from $7.70 per kilogram to $7.90 per kilogram.

CHANDLER, AZ – Augusto Meozzi, president of Isola Europe, has retired after 45 years of service within the industry.

Formerly the CEO of MAS Group, acquired by Isola in 1990, Meozzi has held several executive positions. He was president and CEO of Isola Laminate Systems Inc., as well as COO and EVP of Isola in Düren, Germany.

After Isola acquired TPG, he assumed leadership of the European region.

GHENT, BELGIUM – Ucamco has appointed Adeon Technologies BV to oversee sales and marketing in Denmark.

Adeon will manage the full range of Ucamco products, including the SilverWriter and Calibr8tor series of laser photoplotters, the Integr8tor PCB sales solution, UCAM front-end software and SmartPlate.

Ucamco will continue to handle hardware and software support.
