WASHINGTON, DC – Members of IPC are calling on Congress to pass a new bill calling for the establishment a National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI).
In his past two State of the Union addresses, President Obama proposed building the NMMI, consisting of regional hubs that will accelerate development and adoption of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies for making new, globally competitive products, and via executive order has launched four such hubs and initiated the establishment of four more.
The Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act of 2013 enjoys broad bipartisan support in Congress, IPC says.
Electronics industry executives will meet with members of Congress, senior White House staff and agency officials to advocate for smart reforms in manufacturing policy, chemicals recycling under the Toxic Substances Control Act, and maintaining a robust defense industrial base.
