DEESIDE, NORTH WALES -- Falcon PCB Group will consolidate operations and rebrand as Merlin PCB Group, the company said. Its rigid PCB fabrication plant, Merlin Circuit Technology, and flex circuit site, Merlin Flex-Ability, have expanded of late, giving the company the opportunity to close its 27,000 sq. ft site in Littlehampton.
The latter site will cease manufacturing by year-end, the firm says. It is the former Artetch Circuits, which Falcon acquired in September 2010.
Merlin Circuit Technology is in Deeside, and Merlin Flex-Ability, which Falcon acquired in March 2010, is in Hartlepool.
In a statement, group chairman Neil Martin said, "There has been a huge effort from all involved with the development of our key UK manufacturing sites and we are in a strong position to grow beyond our current group sales of £20 million. We are ready to move forward with our next objectives which are, to continue to further increase our technical capability, provide career paths for our employees and develop market leading service solutions for our customers."
With the rebranding, Falcon PCB Group will become Merlin PCB Group. "The Merlin PCB Group name more accurately reflects our evolution and will clearly define each of our three core services, UK manufactured flexible and flex rigid circuits, UK rigid board manufacture and economic offshore supply," the firm said.
