LEOBEN, AUSTRIA – AT&S has announced a new corporate structure that will feature two product-based business units, BU ME (Microelectronics) and BU ES (Electronics Solutions). BU ES will cover the area of printed circuit boards, while BU ME will cover the company's range of IC substrates.

The company said printed circuit boards, especially high-end printed circuit boards, play an important role not only for AT&S, but for the entire electronics sector and global digitization, and the new ES business unit will also increasingly cover the business areas of modules and embedding and the cooperation with our customers will be much more integrated.

For the ME business unit, AT&S said the new structure enables the company to develop tailor-made strategies for specific industry and customer requirements while ensuring effective decision-making and rapid response to customer priorities.

"I am confident that AT&S can grow into a leadership position in the electronics and microelectronics industry," said CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer. "We have been a driving force in digitization in the past and will continue to play an important role in digital evolution in the future."

The company said it expects its workforce to double in the coming years and sales to triple, and its organizational structure is being adjusted due to the need to respond to increasingly complex customer priorities with strategies tailored to specific technologies and industry segments. Both BUs will be essential go-to-market and operational capacities and will work with their own site networks. Other mechanisms have also been implemented to ensure improved scalability, faster decision-making, increased efficiency and greater collaboration.

Along with the new operating model, AT&S has also appointed Peter Griehsnig to the role of CTO, which was newly created to steer, coordinate and accelerate research and innovation. The CTO is responsible for Research & Development, Innovation Management, Advanced Interconnect Solution Services (AISS), Quality, ESG and Industrial Planning. Griehsnig has been with AT&S since 2001 and has worked for AT&S in Shanghai since 2002.

The new Management Board team consists of CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer, CFO Petra Preining, the heads of the new business units, EVP Peter Schneider for the BU ES and EVP Ingolf Schröder for the BU ME, and CTO Peter Griehsnig.

“AT&S has already been successful in the past with our strategy, our solutions and our employees. With our passion and our desire to be the first and the best in our field, we have achieved our goals. Together we can recognize trends, create innovations and seize opportunities. The new structure is the foundation for our future success,” said Gerstenmayer.
