YIYANG, HUNAN PROVINCE, CHINA -- MFS Technology has completed the first phase of a major expansion of its new flex circuit fabrication plant here and will launch volume production later this month.

Founded in September 2018, MFS Technology Yiyang Co. Ltd. is located in Changchun Economic Development Zone, and specializes in flexible printed circuit boards, electronic devices and circuit board assembly. The development of the 11 hectares site with planned capacity of 300,000 sq. m per year has been split into two equal phases.

The Yiyang facility is highly automated, the company said, with fully automated roll-to-roll production including full automation from material cutting to finished goods. Also, imaging, layup and solder mask processes are designed as a Class 1,000 clean room. The plant has some 50 production lines, the company said, capable of 1,000 sq. m of boards per day. It builds primarily for the automotive and gaming industries.

"We firmly believe that the capacity improvement and quality assurance brought by the new factory will further enhanced MFS overall business services," the company said.

Yiyang plans to begin phase 2 later this year and complete two additional phases within five years.
