SANTA CLARA, CA – EMS provider NBS Design Inc. has opened two PCB layout facilities in recent weeks. 
 
The first, in Dallas, has been in operation since mid-July and is run by Russ Wirth. In mid-August, NBS will open its third layout operation, to be located in Nashua, NH; another PCB industry veteran, Kathy Descoteaux, will run that operation.
 
The eight-year-old company also has a design center and manufacturing facility in Santa Clara.

In a statement, NBS president Craig Arcuri says the “addition of two such prominent and experienced industry players” will help the company broaden its “national footprint.”
 
Arcuri was the founder of Design Solutions Inc., the network of PCB service bureaus that peaked at more than 100 designers before he sold it to Flextronics.
ROME, NY – The ESDA is requesting two-page abstracts for the International Electrostatic Discharge Workshop, taking place May 12-15 in Port D-Albret, France.
 
Presentations should address novel design concepts; special custom design approaches; technology integration issues; failure analysis; test structures; simulation tools; component-level ESD testing; ESD characterization; system-level ESD issues; immunity of ICs to EMI, and unresolved ESD issues.

The technical program committee will announce selections on or before Jan. 7.
WASHINGTON -- The Electronic Industries Alliance's board of directors has approved a plan that would split the assets of the trade goup coalition across five distinct organizations. Under the plan, EIA will distribute its assets equally among its four current member associations -- The Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association; the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA); the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association; and the Telecommunications Industry Association -- and the Consumer Electronics Association, a former member of EIA. f $1.2 million. NASHUA, NHSedona International, provider of specialized engineering services, has posted revenues in excess of $3 million for 2006, completing the company’s first full year of operations.
 
In addition to core subject matter experts, Sedona International Partners remain key to the company’s success, permitting customer engagement that provides an alternative to sending engineering and design projects offshore, explains the company. Sedona says it will continue to qualify new SIPs to expand its offering of engineering and design experts.
 
Sedona assisted more than 50 clients across the U.S. and Canada to bring products to the computing, audio, telecom, defense, and industrial marketplaces in the past year.
MONTREALCimmetry Systems, a subsidiary of Agile Software Corporation, which was recently acquired by Oracle Corporation, today announced the immediate availability of AutoVue v.19.2. This new EDA centric product offering addresses the requirements of Printed Circuit Board design and contract manufacturing. Several industry leading Electronics and High Tech companies worked in close collaboration with Cimmetry Systems to drive AutoVue’s EDA capability in release 19.2.
